Change robot model in RS projekt?



Hi,
 
I have created a station with som smart components and done all I/O-connections and I/Os in both station logic and robot controller. When all was done I found out that the robot I choosed couldnA't reach all positions needed so now I have to switch to a bigger one.
 
As IA'm a newbie in RS I fear that switching robot requires me to repeat all the steps allready done. Is there an easy way to do the switching?

  • Hi,
    You need to add a new controller, and then remap the signals to that controller. Targets, workobjects etc. can you move to the new controller from the Path&Targets browser.

    I defined the I/Os again in the new controller and then remapped the signals.
    Is there a "copy paste" or similar method for creating the signals in the controller (if I have to do it again in the future)?
    If there are many I/Os it takes some time to rewrite them in the new controller.

  • you have to save the I/O configuration file from your old station with the save parameter button in the offline tab. After this you and load this configuration file into your new controller with the load parameters button.
