Multitasking enabled?

I am working with some older M94A IRB 6400 robots and I want to add a background program to monitor some inputs to the robot.
Is there a way to check if I have the "multitasking" option loaded?
My system parameters manual says that "ram1disk:base_mt.sys" should always be defined. What does that define?
Right now I have two modules on my floppy:
R1_2000 (this is the main program)
CVpoller (this will be the background module)
Can I not just add the "CVpoller" to the automatic module load?
I'd like some direction and help with setting up my first multitask on an older robot.
Thanks!
