Is it possible to directly use EDS files to configure DeviceNet unit types in IRC5, or should the unit types be created manually based on the content of the EDS files?

    You need to configre it manually according to your EDS file.

     

    Example for Phoenix IO

     

          -Name "PC01" -BusType "DNET" -VendorName "PhoenixContact"
          -ProductName "ILBDN24DI16/DO16" -DN_VendorId 562 -DN_ProductCode 288
          -DN_DeviceType 7 -DN_MajorRev 3 -DN_MinorRev 20 -DN_ExplicitMsgEnabled
          -DN_C1Interval 50 -DN_C1OutputSize 4 -DN_C1InputSize 4
