  • The controller software (=RobotWare) that is distributed with RobotStudio supports IRB 1600 ID. You can access the download page from http://www.abb.com/roboticssoftware.

  • Can i update the Robot controller software ?and how if i can ?
  • Please provide some background information:
    * Do you have real robot with a working system?
    * If so, what RobotWare version is it using?
    * What application are you running? (ArcWelding, SpotWelding, Dispensing, Material handling, etc..)
    * Do you want to do offline programming with RS, or are you simply working online with a direct connection to your robot?
    * Which RobotStudio version are you using?

  • yes i have real robot with aworking system using RobotWare version 5.13 and i'm running on ARcwelding applications and i want to do online programming using RobotStudio 5.15

  • I suggest you connect to the robot and try the function "Go Offline". The function creates a virtual replica of your real system.

Note that you need to have the RobotWare option PC-Interface to connect to the robot over the LAN. The option is not required for the service port.

  • To upgrade the RobotWare version on your real controller to RobotWare 5.15 I recommend you to get in touch with your local ABB Robotics Service representative for assistance, see http://www.abb.com/product/ap/seitp327/a2073867d4b9c570c1257991004dd00a.aspxS

  • I suppose you can use RobotWare 5.15 for your virtual system to do offline programming. The RAPID code is the same.

(Do you possible have the RobotWare DVD that came with the robot? Then you can install the same RW version on your PC to use an identical system for offline programming. )
