There is a bug with the window layout that we have not been able to put the finger on yet. To workaround it you need to delete (or rename) the layout file. On Windows 7, the file is located in the folder
C:Users<user name>AppDataLocalABB Industrial ITRobotics ITRobotStudio
and is called 'Layout515.xml'.
Steps to follow:
1: Close RS
2. Rename the file (to prevent RS from finding it)
3. Start RS.
-> the window show be back
Note: You need to configure the Windows Explorer to show hidden files and folder, see http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Show-hidden-files

Henrik,
It still doesn't work. Yes I use Windows7.
Do you have more suggestions? options?0 -
Does it matter if don't have the registrated version?0

Please upload your file Layout5.15.xml so that we can take a look at it.

The file is not healthy, the entry for RAPID Watch is missing. I suggest you try to delete it once more.Ensure that RobotStudio is closed when you delete the file. Otherwise, RS will recreate the incorrect file when closing down.If the problem persists, please contact your local ABB Robotics Service rep that can forward your issue to our tech support.Henrik Berlin

Hello,Since i have the same problem as mister JOEHOE, i would like to reopen this topic.I have uploaded 3 of the layout files that were created. The layout file with the X is the first layout file, the XX is the second and the XXX is the third one i got after deleting its predecessor.I use windows 7 with robot studio 5.61.02 (64 bit version). Yes I do have a 64 bit operating system. Yes I have tried everything above, and yes I have tried opening the 32 bit version to restore a correct layout file.Unfortunately these things have not worked out.Does anyone have a fix ? I would like to use the rapid watch window since it helps me debug, but I cannot access it.I would also like to try a layout file of someone else. Could someone with a non-corrupt version please upload his layout file (path to it is described by Henrik Berlin above) so that I could try if that works? The robotstudio version should be the same as mine. Thanks in advance!0
