Robot Error Messages

There is way, without particular option, to get error code number of the robot when something happen?
If it's not present,
I think can "quite" easy for ABB, define the Error Log messages, like a collection of array or error
code, automatically the robotware can feed these arrays; and using some simple function, we can get the one error message number; and use in some way or send to a PLC.
After that, for each robotware version, a collection for XML files can be available to get the string message.
What do you think about?
