Simulating ABB IRB640 M98 in RS5.15

Hello,

I'm planning to buy an ABB IRB640 M98 for palletizing tasks. I've seen that there exists a model (.rslib) file for the ABB IRB640 M2000 in RS5.15 and i've read on the forum that it should be possible to use this model with a 'stand-alone controller'.
I've tried to build it via system builder, but i cant find the drive system for an IRB 640.

How can I simulate an ABB IRB 640 M2000 in RS5.15?
And do the IRB640 M98 and IRB640 M2000 have the same dimensions, range, joint limits etc.?

(Im using RS5.15 trial)

Thanks in advance,
Koen

The IRB 640 can be simulated and programmed with RobotStudio 5.15 using the StandAlone Controller. I suppose you need to use the drive module for the IRB660 when you create the system for the IRB 640, see attached movie.

As for the specifications, I recommend you to read the attached documents and compare. To my knowledge there should be no difference. I believe the mechanical arm is the same. But I recommend you to get in touch with your local ABB Robotics Service representative to confirm this.

The RAPID program will be essentially the same. However, the CFG files will not be compatible as there are some differences between the models.
