Problems when deploying PCSDK
Hi,
According to this thread: http://forums.robotstudio.com/forum_posts.asp?T ID=714&PN=1 you should add the ABBControllerAPI.msm to your Installshield project.
Is InstallShield a requirement or can you use the built-in "Setup Project" in VS2005? We've tried to include the MSM-file in our setup project but the MSI reports an error when executed.
The error message is: "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2732."
The installation works when removing or excluding the MSM-file from the setup project. Will InstallShield solve the problem?

When testing with InstallShield the MSM-file was installed correctly into the GAC.
But we had some problems with the RAB anyway. According to the thread about 5.07 deployment you should install RobotWare on the target system and then install your application (with the MSM included). We did this on a clean system but we couldn't use RAB because it complained about classes that wasn't registred.
After a installation of RSO it worked though. I suppose the RSO installation includes RobAPI-dlls which RAB uses. In that case - is it possible to include just the RobAPI or do we need RSO as a requirement in our application?
Edit: I just read the Release Notes for RAB and under "known limitations" one could read that the deployment file only was compatible with InstallShield.
