Talking DeviceNet to a 3rd party PLC
I'm having trouble connecting an Allen Bradley PLC to a 2400's DeviceNet network.
The PLC's DNet scanner will not accept an ABB plug with the addressing pins, it uses the standard 5-pin DeviceNet connector.
I configured the PLC to use address 03, and set it up as a DN_GENERIC at address 03 in the EIO, but whenever I plug the PLC in to the DeviceNet network, the bus goes down due to too many communication errors.
Do I need to rewire it so it goes through the ABB plug with the address pins?
Does the PLC need the EDS file for the devicenet adapter in order to communicate with it? If so, where do I find the correct EDS files?
