IRB 660 IRC5 controller I/O questions

Hello,
I'm looking into the IRB 660 robot with the IRC5 controller. I have made a program in robotstudio with a virtual i/o unit. The unit uses around 15 digital inputs and 2 analog inputs. I have no real experience working with a controller yet so I wanted to ask a few questions.
How will this translate to reality? Can the default IRC5 controller that comes with the IRB 660 handle them without any additional features like the integrated PLC control module options?
Any information, pointers as to what I should know working with the controller would be much appreciated!

I think the standard configuration comes with a 16I/16O card inside the controller. I'm not aware of analog inputs being included in on the standard but I'm sure they're an option that can be added. No outputs needed?
The I/O does not require an additional logic controller to work. The virtual I/O can be remapped to the real I/O block via RS. While the I/O remains live and updates in fractions of a second back to the controller, the I/O is checked and used only when your program looks at it. Using the integrated PLC (or a background task) for more complex logic and/or more constant monitoring of signals would depend on your specific needs.
