Smart Components and creating a new, empty station with PC Interface

Hello everyone!

I am facing an issue which is quite unclear to me. What I want to do is to create a new robotic station in Robot Studio which could support the PC Interface (for a network communication) and a service of SmartComponents. I will explain you in steps what I'm doing:

1) I make a new, empty station. I add a robotic arm and create a new robot system from layout where I choose the option for PC Interface.
2) I create the whole enviroment with the robot, i.e. a conveyor belt with a box (it is my object to operate on it).
3) I add and configure a set of SmartComponents. I suppose they are added and configured correctly since I follow the help-guide.
4) When I want to run the program ("Play" button in the simulation tab) I get an error that "Program has been stopped" or something like that (error number 10068).

The thing is that there is no description for a reason of the error. I have been looking for a solution for a while but I could not find any. The only thing I have found is to try to configure the I/O of the system but I have no idea how to do it. Futhermore, I have read that I should use the "Station with existing Robot Controller" but in this case adding or modifying a PC Inteface could brake down the configuration for the SmartComponents and I am limited to IRB120.

Does anybody know how to fix it?

Thanks!

  • Ok, so maybe I should ask another question which actually could help me much more:

If I have my smart components done, a station logic configured, a RAPID code written - should I somehow configure the DeviceNET Lean to make the signals flow possible?

I think this is the problem why my station does not execute the orders, i.e. when a sensor detects and object it sends a logic "1" to an input of my system but I don't know why the system does not see the impuls. In other words: I can watch all the I/O of my station. The output of the sensor is directly connected to an input of a robotic station. When there is logic "1" on the sensor, at the same time there is a logic "0" on the input of the robotic station.
  • Hi,

You should do the connections between the Smart Components and the system in "Station Logic", that you will find in the Simulation tab.
