Models Missing from Station

I have an issue, I have been working on a simulation with four IRB140's.  We typically create everything in SolidWorks and then import the SAT file into RS.  I did this and everything has been working great.  The new lighting in 5.60 is great and adds a wonderful visual aspect to our simulations.  I opened the station this morning and everything was fine.  I then opened it about an hour ago and all the models are in the layout tree but nothing is shown in the graphics area.  When I try to make a model visible it shows that it is visible in the layout tree but nothing is shown in the graphics window.  When I run the simulation all the robots run just fine but again, there are no models shown in the graphics area.

Any thoughts?

  • IT JUST HAPPENED AGAIN!!!

Now it is going to get frustrating.  Has anyone else had anything like this happen?

Here is the problem again, In my RS station I have a bunch of imported geometry.  Everything works great and then just at random they don't show up anymore.  Meaning, they are still in the station, i.e. shown in the component tree but they do not show up in the graphics view.

    Any help?
  • We would like to take a closer look at this problem. Please get in touch with your local ABB Robotics Service representative that can forward your issue to our tech support, http://www.abb.com/contacts. Thanks.

  • Hi, I have the same problem here. I can normally get the geometries back with Graphics Tools and mass click different views, the geometries get back within several clicks.
It happens when I was trying to re-orientate or zoom in/out in the graphics area. RS has a problem when it comes to centre of re-orientation. Why can't we just re-orientate relative to the centre of mass like SolidWorks?

  • Well, in my case the problem escalated. When I want to import geometry it shows in the graphics window, but isn't present in the models list. I closed and opened RS again, and it works fine now. Sometimes it happenes that in the list the model is considered as active, but in reality I just disactivated it. The same happens with collisions. When I disactivate them, they are indeed disactivated, but the graphics on the list are checked. That's a bit confusing.
