Test Signal Viewer not Connected

Hi,
i installed the test signal viewer , i have a station consists of a robot i use a virtual flexpendant  to follow the FC program  and see how the robot moves in the path
i would like to do some analysis using the test signal viewer , but i am not connected to the real robot or real controller , is that possible?
and if possible can you please help me to connect to a virtual controller?
when the test signal viewer asks for ip address i use 192.168.125.2 and port number is 401 but it is not connected !
any help is really appreciated

  • In RobotStudio you have the Signal Analyzer which you can find under Simulation tab. To use it you first setup which signals to watch in Signal Setup and then you can view graphs in Signal Analyzer. Is it possible for you to use that instead of the test signal viewer?
  • Yeah i tried it , and it Works , Thank alot. But can i Add some variables i defined in rapid program, i can only See tragest, Joints . In the Signal analyzer Also, can you please help me to find the variables i defined in Rapid, for example i defined x:=1, i dont know where is this variable now, it should be saved somewhere, i searched the global variables from the flexpendant but i could Not find it. Can you please help me in Ansteuerung Those questions
  • For variables you can use the RAPID watch window available in the RAPID tab of RobotStudio.

  • Thank you so much, that was very helpful
  • Hello Dear ABB Robotics Forum,

I have some problems with the Test Signal Viewer software tool.

I need to record the TSV logs from more than 130 track motion according to SI10256A1 rev 0

I can’t get connection or the connections is lost after some seconds in some controllers. TSV “Could not connect” See pic ErrorTSV_2.png and “Lost the Network Connection” ErrorTSV_5.png

I had this issue with 6 robots last week.

I reviewed all the basic settings like IP address, Port Number, PC Settings, also I tried with another Ethernet cable, but I can’t find what is the reason of this error.

What is strange is that using the same TSV tool, same PC and same Ethernet cable I get connection with others robot controller with our any problem.

And also I can get online with the Robot Studio and do a backup for example without any problem in the same controllers where I can’t get connect with the TSV.

Also when I have the error message in the TSV “Could not connect” See pic ErrorTSV_1.png, I get an error message on the robot controller:

Motion        50234             Overflow during logging     An overflow occurred when logging test signals or data log signals.

    See KH5M15_27R01_30-May-14 0-00-00_Common.log log file

Thanks in advance for your support and Best Regards,

  • P.D. I Can't use RS Signal Analyzer because the robots have RobotWare Version: 5.15.2005.02 and with this RW the RS Signal Analyzer doesn't work..Or? Thanks
