problems to transfer virtual signals to the real controller

in RobotStudio
I am new in Robotstudio. I followed an example in youtube (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aOQNPS7yUw), where a virtual signal is programmed. Also a key of the Virtual Flexpendant is programmed such that when it is pressed a particular motion is made in a RAPID program. Everything works fine in simulation but when I tried to transfer it to the real controller then only the programm was transfered. I programmed the virtual signal and key in thereal controller (via Robotstudio and conection though TCP/IP) and then it worked.

Is there a better way to do it, or this is the standard way?
