General question but very important and urgent about the force control pressure functionality

I always read that FC machining and especially FC pressure always give constant pressure on the interacting surface between the workpiece and the polishing spindle, but at the same time you have the possibility to change the amount of this force! Does it mean that the force distribution over the surface of contact is always constant but might vary from 10 to 20 to .... etc? I would like to clarify about this point please!
