Dsqc 652 and relay

Hi,
I would like to control an Air valve by setting a digital output signal. For this reason I need to connect a relay to the Dsqc 652 available unit. From the manual it is not clear how to do. Since it seems that the board need to receive 24 V from XT31 connector through a connection between XT31 pin 1 and dsqc 652 x1 pin 10 and XT31 pin 5 and dsqc 652 x1 pin 9. But after that I don't understand how to connect the relay to the I/O board. I saw that there is a specific I/O board with relay output but I would like to know if what I would like to do is possible also with dsqc 652.
The last question is related to the fact that the I/O unit on flex pendant results "not connected" and no leds are turned on. My controller is IRC5.
Thank you so much for the help.

That card should have no problem triggering a 24v relay. "Not connected" is odd -- no lights and no manually firing an input by connecting it to 24v? If it's not listed in your system by default, I'm sure ABB has a manual for that unit...

First you should check the address of your I/O board, usually devicenet address is 10 or 12. Secondly, if you bring in a proper way 24 V DC supply to DSQC 652 you should see LEDs for power status on. Finally you will use output terminal from I/O card and common (your DC supply to card) wire in order to energize relay with I/O board.0
