Signal Changed Events Not Firing

Hello,
Are there any situations in which the signal changed events stop firing? I occasionally get into a state where my PC SDK app stops receiving signal changed events and the only way to get things up and running again is to restart my application. I believe this occurs when the Rapid code receives some timeouts, but I have yet to nail down a specific scenario.
All of the signal changed events are routed through a single handler routine. In this state, changing the signal values within the 'I/O System' window does not cause the event to fire. Any ideas? Thanks.
