Communication with X9 Console Port (RS232)

                    Dear All,
I have a question regarding the X9 Console Port (RS232) in ABB 2600 robot controller (a photo of the port's location is attached and a picture shows it's location schematically also is attached ). What I like to do is to communicate with this port via (MATLAB or C++ ). Am I able to get the sensor (6-axis force/torque sensor and encoders) reading from this port or not?! I think it should be possible to get this information since the signals form both sensors enter this module by 2xRS232 port as in the attached photo, but I am not sure. Could you help me?!
Thanks for your help in advance.

Did you manage to connect Matlab (or other programm) to the controller via RS232 serial connection?

I am also interested in the answer to this question and a few others. I need access to the direct encoder signals for a real-time application.
1) Where can I find more detail about this port?
2) What is the protocol for this port?
3) Are all 6-encoder axes on this port
4) What is the maximum latency between the encoder readings and the actual readings0
