Hello Dear all,
I need to know that is it possible to move the Robot axes with hand, in addition to flexpendant joystick, to define a motion for the Robot?
Best regards

  • Hi,

You need the RobotWare option Force Control combined with a force sensor mounted on the robot to be able to use lead through programing.

  • Hi Dear Graemepaulin,
    Thanks for your reply.
I have another questions from you:
    1) what do you mean a force sensor? what's that at all? and what applications does it have?
    2) The RobotWare option Force Control, is a setting that have to be set by flexpendant, or not? ( Please explain more, if possible )
    Best regards

  • Hi,

This YouTube video show the principal  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acJ3WDnoDCM

Things have advanced since this video:

    - a programing handle that means you do not need to use the Teach Pendant.

    - you can teach the path as a movement (not discrete points as shown).

  • Hi,

You need additional hardware (force sensor), and RobotWare options before you can use this functionality.

Contact your local ABB and they will be able to advise exactly what is required for your system.
