Thank you.
I am new to this forum and I am asking for some help from more experienced persons.
I have at my university the robot IRB120 and it's working just fine with the FlexPendant but I need to connect it to RobotStudio. I have searched all over the internet a guide or a tutorial to explain exact the steps(or the settings) that I am supposed to do to get it work.
Also I would need a working program that I could load into just to see his structure. (any program).

Thank you.
P.S. I have attached the pictures with the robot and IRC5 compact controller.

Just connect your computer with RobotStudio to the service port on the controller with a Ethernet cable. Then in RobotStudio select Online and One Click Connect and you should be connected. The controller and rapid tabs in RobotStudio is where you can see and wwork with your controller. RobotStudio also comes with a lot of documentation booth on RS itself and the Rapid language, which you program the robot in.Per Svensson

Check so that you don't have a fixed ip adress set on your pcPer Svensson

The service port is a DHCP server so if your LAN IPv4 Address is set to DHCP you should be given an IP address in the 192.168.125.XXX range from the IRC5 robot controller. I have found before that it helps if you statically set your IP address to that range, the ABB suggested address is 192.168.125.10 IIRC.
Try doing that, if that doesn't work perhaps the service port connected is not connected on the back side? Try to statically set the IP address to the above setting and PING the controller at 192.168.125.1 using command prompt to check if your PC can see the service port on the controller.0 -
I have finally figured it out. The license of the RobotStudio it's on a server and I have to connect through VPN software to that server but after I connect to the VPN network the connection with the robot drops and in order to restore it I have to reboot the irc5 controller. Right now I have connected it and it's all good. Also I have made a simulation on RobotStudio but when I try to load the rapid to the robot in order to run the actual program in real life, I got some errors about the pointer.Do you guys have any tips how should I come this through ?0

Is an error about program pointer being lost that's ok because depending on what you change in the controller sometimes you lose the program pointer so you need to start from mainPer Svensson
