Communication between PC and force sensor

Greetings every one!
1. We have an ABB robot(IRB2600) which includes an SRI 6-axis force/torque sensor. As we know, the force sensor is integrated with ABB robot. May i know possible to make them separate by removing the force data cable from the controller unit? 
2. Once i complete the first step, how could i build the communication between force sensor and PC directly via connecting force data cable to PC?
