Integrated vision vs. PickMaster 3

Hello to all, could you please explain to me difference between integrated vision and PM 3. What is limitation expect number of cameras and monitored conveyors, is the functionality same for those two software options. Thanks in advance.

  • With PM3 you configure and run the complete line from the PC (which is required for run time operation also).

Integrated vision is the ability to use cameras directly connected to the main computer of the controller - they are configured via RobotStudio and you have to write your own RAPID code for controlling the picking/ placing.

  • Thanks for you fast answer, so I could use integrated vision with IRB 360 application if I have couple of conveyors to track. What is confusing is the fact that when I'm reading integrated vision manual there is no any reference to conveyor tracking, encoder interface unit is not even prerequested as hardware option in order to use integrated vision. Could you please give me some info about this fact. Thanks in advance.
  • Yes you could write you own code to do the conveyor tracking (combined with the vision) but this is really where PM3 makes it very easy - for most applications you do not have to write any code you simply configure the system through the PM3 graphical screen.

Conveyor tracking is a separate RobotWare option so is dealt with in a separate manual.
