Hello!
I would like to know how I can define I/O signals in the controller. How could I add a predefined IO configuration file to your existing parameters? How can I create a Unit Type Virtual in the controller?
I'm using RobotStudio 6.03.
Thanks in advance,
Jessica Munoz.

Hi Jessica.
Your system will need the software option, I.E. Device net 709-1
to add this you will need to follow the guide below...
With the station open and the controller running select the 'controller tab'
Choose the Installation manager
Click the controller in the browser LH side of window
Choose Virtual tab
to find your virtual robot you may have to first go the 'preferences'
Change the virtual system paths location to the folder that contains your virtual system on your PC... NOT THE SYSTEM ITSELF
Click ok to go back to the controllers tab, you should now be able to see you virtual robot... might have to select refresh or choose drop-down arrows to expand aded locations
With your controller selected choose options
Expand Industrial networks
choose type of network adapter
next
apply
You may need to restart the system, try restart but sometimes a system reset (I- start) is required... found in robotstudios controller tab
I recommend that you load a default IO configuration file, for robotware 6 systems an I/O file for device net can be found here:
C:\Users\ YOUR USER ID NAME \AppData\Local\ABB Industrial IT\Robotics IT\RobotWare\RobotWare_6.03.0140\utility\service\ioconfig\DeviceNet
Hope this helps!0
