PC mother board Failure

Hello Friends,
 Hope you all doing good.
  In one of my projects i am using Labview for vision systems. Labview is installed in PC ( i5 processor & Intel mother board ) .
  We are communicating PC and IRC5 compact controller via RS232. Problem is with in 5 months 3 PC mother boards was failed. 
   I hope 0 and 5V are transfer from IRC5 to pc via RS232. hope it wont affect PC. 
   I am wondering what will be the reason for PC mother board failure ??
