Virtual IRC5 to HMI

So I am fairly new to ABB development software, but while looking through the capabilities of Robotstudio and PanelBuilder to simulate real hardware I couldn't help but wonder if there was a way to get the two to talk. So my question is, is it possible to communicate between a simulated HMI to an emulated IRC5 controller?
