Is it possible to simulate a KUKA robot within RobotStudio?

This question is asked frequently by our customers, How possible is it to include other manufactures robots into RobotStudio?
can we control them with the ABB virtual controller, are ADDINS for 3rd party controllers available?

Hello Sturner,

No, you  can not run other manufactures robots in a correct  (e.g. linear motion) way in RobotStudio. The reason is obvious, we only have virtual controllers for our ABB robots.
But you can create your own robot mechanism of for example a KUKA robot with "Create Mechanism" if you have the CAD models for it, and control it as a Smart Component, or run it with an IRC5 controller with MoveAbsJ instructions.
