Simulation for older ABB 1400 with S4C+ controller
in RobotStudio
We are attempting to use an ABB 1400 with an S4C+ controller on a research project, and would like to use RobotStudio (or some equivalent) for desktop simulation and program checking. My understanding is that the current version of RS does not support these older controllers.
Does anyone know of a different software product which we can use for this purpose, or is there a way to license/trial older versions of RobotStudio (perhaps 5.0.9)?

Hi,
No version of RS 5/6 supports S4C+, but the resulting RAPID code should be compatible for the most part.
My suggestion is to use current RS for simulation, and transfer the code to the S4C+ controller.

You can also use IO config file from S4 in RobotStudio, but little bit of editing and changing is needed inside this cfg file. Just compare IRC5 IO cfg file with S4, it will be clear what to change.0
