    You should use AliasIO in you case.
      VAR string sVarValue:="8";
      VAR string sVarName:="goTest";

      VAR signalgo goAlias;
      VAR num nValue;
      IF StrToVal(sVarValue, nValue) THEN
        AliasIO sVarName,goAlias;
        SetGO goAlias,nValue;
      ENDIF
