How to use tool I/O (XS12)

Hey guys,
have a question about our abb yumi irb14000. I want to send a digital output signal to the tool flange off the right hand. I thought this would be possible via a cross connection bettween the xs12 connector (tool i/o) and the xs7 connector(digital outputs). I tryed it out and tested it with a voltage meter, but there wasn't a signal for all the time. Is there an software option which disables the ethernet on the toolflanges and enables the digital i/o on the tool flange?

I saw page 74 of this productspecification, which means that the xs12 is for tool-i/o-signals. My problem is, that i tried this out and it doesn't work. I never get a signal out of the toolflange. You know what i mean?
Can you tell me the procedure to use the xs12-slot for tool i/o?

We could solve it. We opened the Case of the yumi and connected the ethernetcable of the arms with the cable to the xs12slot. Now we could use it as digital i/o's. If we want to use it as ethernet again, then we have to turn this back and connect the cables from the arms again with the ethernet switch in the yumi. You know what i mean?
